Review methodology
How we research and test software, and what our review labels mean.
Research first
Every profile starts from official documentation, release notes and licence terms. Facts such as platforms, licence and pricing record the date they were last verified.
What 'Tested' means
A review shows the 'Tested by My Software Online' badge only when it records a real test: the date, platform, software version, test duration and the named tester. Without those details, no badge is shown.
No scores or star ratings
We do not publish invented scores, star ratings or aggregate ratings. Verdicts explain who a product suits and why, in plain language.
Prices
Prices are shown only when they have been checked and dated. Otherwise we link to the vendor's current pricing.
Independence
Affiliate relationships never decide conclusions. Affiliate links are labelled next to the link, and sponsored placements are always marked.
Updates and corrections
Reviews show a last-updated date. Readers and vendors can send corrections through the contact page.
